A knowledge of the basic laws of motion, concepts of force, energy, momentum, impulse, and the mechanisms of friction is fundamental to the study of mechanics and the solution of many engineering problems. A basic understanding of the plane motion of particles, bodies, interconnected bodies, mechanisms and geared systems is essential for the engineer. Assessment is by assignments and end of semester examination. Programmes for which this course is required or in which it can be included: Bachelor of Engineering Major in Agricultural Engineering Bachelor of Engineering Major in Mechanical Engineering. |
